Before I get into the resources I used for this week of school, I wanted to thank what was likely the sources for the fun Groundhog Day activities we did at the library!

We had some early February fun with 10 Groundhog Day preschool trays (and three fun crafts)!

  1. Ground H-O-G
  2. Trace Numbers 1-25
  3. 10 Frames
  4. Groundhog Patterns
  5. The Groundhog Book
  6. Number Line
  7. G is for Groundhog
  8. Tic-Tac-Toe
  9. Groundhog Coloring Page
  10. Invitation to Make: Groundhog

Ground H-O-G

  • Several trays have materials from the Groundhog Day Mini Printable from Preschool Printables on Teachers Pay Teachers!
  • While simple this is so well done – can you spell HOG?

Trace Numbers 1-25

  • This 1-25 tracing sheet is also from the Groundhog Day Mini Printable – thanks!

The Groundhog Book

Number Line

  • Another gem from Preschool Printables‘ Groundhog materials, we printed out these numbers in color (and I trimmed them in advance). Then, I made some strips (printed in B&W on colored paper) and attached them – for a line of 25!
  • This prep allowed him to focus on the gluing – let’s get those numbers in order!

Tic-Tac-Toe

Groundhog Coloring Page

  • This is another item from the very helpful Preschool Printables printable already linked here.
  • Such a cute page to color with Crayola Twistables crayons!

Invitation to Make: Groundhog

  • This tray was random in nature – as were the results!
  • My intent was just to give him a pile of materials so he could make a burrow and a groundhog (or a variation of those).
  • Included are some pieces of felt, fake leaves, cups, Easter grass, homemade play dough, and wiggle eyes!

Some more Groundhog Day Preschool resources:

We hadn’t worked on a Groundhog Day Preschool theme yet (nor in tot school) and it was a neat one to do! There seemed to be even more free themed resources available than normal. Thanks to all for your time and expertise!

This has been shared with Motivation Monday, Practical Mondays, and A Little Bird Told Me Link Party!

Here are 10 ideas for Groundhog Day Preschool! We used great free printables and did some fun crafts, too!
