Hooray, it’s time to celebrate Fall! I was going to say that it doesn’t quite look like Fall around where we live. But, if I compare to last year, it seems more like the season for fall preschool. It’s a fun albeit frenzied time, between fall sports and the upcoming winter weather!

Celebrate the season with 11 fall preschool trays!

  1. Pumpkin & Gourd Measuring
  2. Sight Word Sorting
  3. Which One is Different?
  4. Leaf Writing
  5. Fall Play Dough Tray
  6. Pretty Leaf Coloring
  7. Cinnamon & Salt Tray
  8. Wooden Leaf Coloring & Matching
  9. Autumn Scavenger Hunt
  10. Sorting Leaves Tray
  11. “DIY” Fall Sensory Bin

Pumpkin & Gourd Measuring

  • Let’s do some measuring! I used a collection of gourds (free from a coworker – thank you) plus the tiny and flexible Home Depot Tape Measure! (The tape is more like what you would find in a sewing kit – appropriate for a toy!)
  • We proved some paper and a pencil in case he wanted to write down any “results”!

Sight Word Sorting

  • This is a tough one! This is the Word Family sort: -it, -at, -ut from 3 Dinosaurs’ Fall Printable Pack – thank you!
  • Dad says this took them about two hours to do in school! Such a good way to get ready for reading!

Which One is Different?

  • This tough Which One Is Different? sheet is from the Fall Pre-K Pack by This Reading Mama!

Leaf Writing

  • TAnother great one from the Fall Printable Pack by 3 Dinosaurs!

Cinnamon & Salt Tray

  • This idea is from this pin, originally from My Nearest and Dearest – thank you!
  • I put a piece of fall leaves paper on the bottom of a plastic art tray, then poured salt on top. I added a little powdered cinnamon, plus cinnamon sticks and a paint brush!

Wooden Leaf Coloring & Matching

  • This was fun! I combined the color & leaf sight word cards from This Reading Mama‘s Fall Pack with some wooden leaves from CraftParts.com!
  • Here we encourage E to color each leaf the right color. We told him he could use coloring implements other than his colored pencils, too!

Autumn Scavenger Hunt

  • This is just up our alley right now… the Autumn Scavenger Hunt from Chalkboards to Strollers was a great resource, thank you!
  • I printed this in color and laminated it.
  • In a little canvas bag I put the trimmed scavenger hunt sheet and a magnetic dry erase marker, and now he had a place to put the found items!

Sorting Leaves Tray

“DIY” Fall Sensory Bin

  • This bin is very similar to the one we used during Earth Preschool
  • I filled simple Dixie disposable cups with various fall-inspired items: red beans, corn, birdseed, pinecones, and so on.
  • Some scoops and cups make it fun to dump it all together!
