Our little kids Christmas DVDs are accessible year round, but today is the day I put them in one big stack! Christmas is around the corner, and while an awesome assortment of Christmas and winter-themed programs are available via streaming, there is something nice and tangible, and reminiscent VHS-esque, about having actual copies.

An easy list of fun Christmas DVDs for little kids! Mickey, Thomas, WordWorld and more!

Along with the hard-to-get Fireman Sam: Holiday Heroes (oh how we miss you, pre-Americanized Fireman Sam!), here is our dozen favorite Little Kids Christmas DVDs!

SpongeBob Squarepants: Christmas: Yes, this DVD is my own, quite before having a kid was on my mind! This includes the double-length Christmas Who? plus the abnormal for the underwater snow fun Snowball Effect? Two of my favorites are also on this disc: Chocolate with Nuts and Pizza Delivery.

Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas: Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat are getting ready for Christmas! It is quite an adventure. This is likely always available streaming but it is still nice to have a tangible copy.

WordWorld: Happy Holidays WordFriends: This DVD is short (just two 10+ minute episodes) but that’s not a bad thing with TV! Spell and learn with The Christmas Star (starring Duck) and A Christmas Present for Dog.

The referenced DVD isn’t readily available anymore but the inexpensive WordWorld: Merry Christmas is a fine alternative!

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Mickey Saves Santa: One of two Mickey entrants on this list (and there could have been more!), this fun little story has Mrs. Claus and the gang helping out Santa!

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Choo-Choo Express: The gang heads back to Misteltoe Mountain to get snow for their Big Easy Freezy Party! This is a full-length feature with a special episode (“Mickey’s Big Job”) as well.

The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About Christmas! The Cat in the Hat knows a lot about everything, you know.

  • PBS fans will also love Peg + Cat: A Totally Awesome Christmas!
  • Rolie Polie Olie’s Winter Wonderland: Rolie Polie Olie is pretty sugar-coated, to put it bluntly! But so are the holidays, so happy Jingle Jangle Day! Hope you see Klanky Klaus this year.

Phineas & Ferb: Very Perry Christmas: Disclaimer that Phineas & Ferb may be a bit too grown up for “little kids,” but it is a nice way for the 3 of us to truly enjoy the show. They really go out of their way to thank Santa and I appreciate the concept!

Thomas & Friends: Merry Christmas Thomas! Trains are already festive and Thomas is the best of all! This is just one of the many Thomas Winter and Christmas DVDs available.

The Muppet Christmas Carol: One of the classics! It is actually the Christmas Carol version I remember the most from my own childhood.

Scholastic Storybook Treasures 20 Holiday Adventures: This is a proud new one on our list! We have been renting the Scholastic Storybook Treasures discs for over a year and we are so glad to have this one. A great deal for 20 holiday stories from all over the world!

Charlie Brown Christmas: I am closing this list appropriately with the one and only Snoopy. A favorite of everyone’s forever and I hope it continues!

Thanks for coming by, and a very Happy Holidays to you!

    1. LOVE your choices! You’re the first family besides ours that loves Fireman Sam. We actually got one from the library today and I was surprised when we watched it because it was older and it wasn’t computer animated but actual claymation.

      • Thank you!
Yes Sam is something! The claymation version is quite different! I try to tell myself that people probably hated when the claymation turned to computer animation, as I complain about that Sam is now Americanized. Regardless it is such a fun show 🙂
