We have used Legos many times in preschool before, but we had never made it the week’s theme. I went ahead and printed the Lego Movie Pre-K Pack several months ago and decided to make a theme with it. Thank you for the resource!

Play Dough Minifigure

Lego Greater Than/Less Than

  • This idea came from a whole list of educational ideas compiled by Babble!
  • Less than and greater than is a pretty new concept for us! To start, I printed the numbers zero to 12 with Lego minifigure head backgrounds.
  • Then, I simply gave him a green plate and 12 each of white and red pieces.

Minifig Coloring

  • I used the Lego guy template above to make a sheet of eight so E could color them all as he wished! Gave him the Melissa & Doug Truck Crayon Set to color with this time.

Lego Character Counting
Lego Movie 3-Part Cards

  • Both of these activities come from the awesome Lego Movie Pre-K Pack!
  • For the counting activity, I decided to make it something they do on the floor by matching the right number to each group of characters. I figured he would cut them all out individually, actually!
  • The three part cards were printed on cardstock and used as they are intended to be.

Punching Circles

  • Here is a Lego-tinged simple craft for fine motor development!
  • I gave him rectangular straps of thin (copy) paper in different colors.
  • No scissors this time — I just put a 1″ hole punch with a lever, and a glue stick!

Emmet Cut & Order by Size
Line Tracing
Color Emmet!

  • Here are the other three activities we used from Over the Big Moon‘s Lego Movie Pre-K Pack!
  • These are all so cute and all ready to print and go — thanks for making it easy!

Where is Pizza Boy? Book

Lego Grid

  • I knew I wanted to do some sort of grid activity with this week of Lego Preschool trays. How convenient that there are Lego (and Duplo!) gridsall ready to print!
  • I didn’t give him any other specifications – just bricks!

Lego Printable Game

  • So thankful for the Building Block Fun Game from Teach with Laughter — thank you for the great (and free!) activity!
  • I printed it as is, laminated the sheets, and gave him and Dad two minifigures and a pile of square blocks so they could play away!

Sight Words

  • Three more sight words this week — UP, RED, and… AND!

Letter Matching & Making

  • I printed this Lego alphabet in color – love it!
  • Paired this with a bunch of Legos to see what he would build.

Paper & Lid Craft

  • He is so into “making” right now – so I came up with this on the fly.
  • Included is a plastic case, several plastic drink lids, scissors, tape, and construction paper.

So many activities, not enough time to do it all! Keep exploring – here are some more awesome ideas that we will definitely do another day!
