$5 for a bag of rocks — and we didn’t use even half of the bag in 2 hours of playtime. 2 hours!!! Do you need some cheap fun for preschoolers in your home?

I was working on a weighted blanket project. Upon some research I felt it made more sense to get polished rocks from Michaels or something. Lowe’s and Home Depot came to mind and I thought hey, it’ll be $25 well spent!

Well turns out you can get a pretty nice bag of rocks under $5. Just like last month with the pumpkins, all we had to do was clean them…

5 bucks for a bag of dirty rocks = 2 hours of fun and a bunch of beautiful stones!

After scrubbing and rinsing we see these beautiful, mostly polished stones! I started picking big ones for my purposes and then we started collecting “extra special” ones. I ended up with this perfectly kidney bean looking one that has been in my jacket pocket since! Who knew cheap fun for preschoolers could be so fun for me, too!

Pardon my ignorance but I was blown away here. We still have about half a bag left. So definitely check out Calico Stones (or any groundcover at the home improvement store) — we are so glad we did!
