Valentine-related themes remain among my favorite! Along with hearts and candy, it is fun to make and use activities that are red, pink, and purple. When all the trays are out on the shelf I always take a picture! Going back through three years now of Valentine Tot School, Valentine’s Preschool, and another set of Valentine’s Preschool, I wanted to share a quick collection of 8 Valentine Math Activities for Tots & Preschool!
Here are the Valentine math activities! Click the links below to go to each activity in its week of school, or scroll down to see short descriptions of each.

Count by 10s
This is a pretty simple activity reusing a scrap peace of foam and repurposing some heart picks from the dollar store. The numbers 10-20 come from the February Math & Literacy Centers by Mrs. Ricca’s Kindergarten on Teachers Pay Teachers! That printable has a TON of great Valentine math activities and more.
Chocolate Candy Shapes
This activity is cuter than cute and we have done it more than once! It comes from the Valentine Cut it Out! Pack from This Reading Mama. Her materials were what inspierd me to make my own Bread Cutting Pack for our Bread Preschool Trays!
From our collection of tot school Valentine math activities comes a cute look at numbers 1, 2, and 3, inspired by an idea from Mom’s Have Questions Too! I made the numbers on my Silhouette Cameo and some heart picks from the dollar store (once again)!
Where would we be without our favorite set of Lauri Tangrams? They have amazing value – at five years old he is now doing the harder puzzles regularly. But a page like this heart page was great way back in tot school!
Counting 30 Hearts
From sensory bins to a counting activity like this one, heart-shaped gems are perfect for Valentine math activities! We paired this with the 1-30 counting tray from — for a super-simple activity.
Pom Pom Color Sort w/ Tongs
When we did this activity back in tot school, it was not math specific. But it would be easy to turn this into one of many Valentine math activities! Practice subtraction, counting by twos, and more!
I hope you found some fun Valentine math activities for you to use in your homeschool or to keep your kids busy this season!
